How my recent engagement encouraged me to start my Etsy shop

I've been recently proposed (well actually 3 months soon) and was given a lovely ring by my fiance which I am reluctant to take off. But for practical purposes - like doing the housework and cooking - it has to come off as I’m frightened of damaging it, so I carefully remove it from my finger and put it somewhere obvious where I know I’ll find it later… And you can imagine it is always different places, bathroom, bedroom, next to the microwave, somewhere in the kitchen... Several time I was frighten that I lost it. And then just to stop all this stress I decided that a little crocheted bowl will do me a favour.

As crochet became my hobby(thanks to one really loooong term project, I tell about it in next posts) I have quickly made that little bowl from merino wool and then felted it - altogether it took about 1 hour and then drying overnight, therefore in about 10 hours I kept in my hands a cozy little pot - a new home for my diamond ring.
My fiance was amazed how nearly from nothing and so quickly I created some a cute thing... Ohhh, it is so easy to impress the west with handmade :)

His "wow" effected on me so much that I though if this is so easy to made such cute bowl for a purpose to protect an engagement, marriage or just any ring or other piece of jewelry, why would not make more and finally start my Etsy shop (it was my plan for long time).

These are other bowls I made after my first pot:

Now not only me but somebody else can put an end to the continual frustration of looking for her ‘lost’ rings by using these protective soft pure wool jewelry bowls. Moreover it is nice present for our friend, mother, granny, or neighbour. I gave it to my neighbour who travels in motohome (huge van) and therefore can't hot carry heavy and fragile things but still have to put her jewelry somewhere over night. I am going to make one for each mom - mine and my fiance's :)

And this is my shop with more things - Ariyarna Boutique
